Fifty spots. That’s all there is in your state team, and when they’re gone your state is closed for the season.
This pass locks in your place for the whole of 2027, from lines-in on 1 December 2026 right through to the Grand Final in November 2027. Every fish you log scores into your state’s total and into your own tally, and that tally is what decides your state’s Golden Rod as well as your shot at the national title.
What you’re fishing for
Thanks to LJs Quality Foodz, the National Golden Rod is guaranteed from the very first registration of the season. Somebody is winning it. How much they win is up to all of us, because the prize grows with the size of the national field:
- Any number at all — a $500 LJs Quality Foodz voucher
- 125 to 165 competitors — the voucher plus a prize valued at $3,000
- 166 to 240 competitors — the voucher plus a prize valued at $6,000
- 241 or more — the voucher plus a Bluefin boat, trailer and motor
Every angler who signs on lifts that prize for everybody, including you. The national count closes at the end of the general rounds on 30 June 2027, and the confirmed prize is announced that week. So the months before June are the ones that count — bring your mates.
On top of that sits your State Golden Rod, put up by your own state sponsor for the highest point scorer in your team, and the $2,000 Lucky Angler draw, which takes one angler at random from everybody who has logged a single scoring fish all season. One fish is all it takes to be in it.
What’s in this pass, and why you need all three
Your season team spot, your 2027 competitor shirt and the official 2027 brag mat. All three are required to compete — no exceptions. The mat is how your catch is measured and verified, and the shirt is how you’re identified in the photo.
Shirts from previous seasons are not accepted, and neither are previous years’ brag mats. Each season’s gear carries that season’s artwork, team colours and sponsor marks, so the 2026 kit won’t get you on the board in 2027.
Before you check out: type the name you want printed across the shoulders of your shirt into the supplier information box at checkout. It goes on the back, footy-jersey style, so it’s yours and nobody else’s. If you’re not sure where to find that box, scroll down — there’s a short video showing you exactly what to do.
Extra shirts and extra mats can be ordered at any time through the season, so if you wear one out or want a spare in the boat, you're covered.
Don’t risk dropping a month of points. Season passes are only available while spots remain in your state.
NOTE: As each shirt ordered is custom-made for the angler, a lead time of up to a month should be allowed for delivery. Please plan ahead ;)
